About Andrea Blain

Andrea Blain has been involved in the family and children’s entertainment and education markets for the past 20 years. She formed Andrea Blain Public Relations Inc. in 1991 to provide publicity services for independent family and children's products: DVDs, videos, toys, books, and music.

Before establishing the company, Andrea was Vice President of Creative Services and Publicity for Smarty Pants Audio and Video Inc., a Cleveland, Ohio based company that specialized in children's audio and video products. She became heavily involved with the launch of a new line of Smarty Pants' product--award-winning children's films produced by the highly-acclaimed National Film Board of Canada to be made available on home video for the first time.

Andrea launched a very successful publicity campaign to "spread the word" about these videos and their excellent programming and production. This campaign resulted in her establishing credibility among the press for representing good, quality children's video productions.

Prior to joining Smarty Pants, Andrea was Director of Sales and Marketing for Five Penguins Design, a Los Angeles design firm that specialized in the entertainment industry. Her career in home video began with Media Home Entertainment.

Andrea is a member of the Coalition for Quality Children's Media, and a juror with the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. She lives in a suburb of Chicago with her husband and their 15-year-old son.
